The pause
What happens when I open a site on my list?
The pause appears before the page. You choose how long to stay, or you go back. The week opens in a new tab, so the pause stays where it is.
How is this different from a hard lock?
A hard lock removes the choice. Distractless shows a pause first. If you continue, that visit still counts, and the weekly summary shows the pattern. See how a hard lock compares with a pause, and why a hard block wears off.
Where it runs
Does it work on my phone?
No. Distractless is a Chrome extension for desktop Google Chrome. It does not run in mobile browsers or in native apps.
Does it work in Incognito?
Not until you allow it. On chrome://extensions, open Distractless and turn on
Allow in Incognito. The block list is the same one.
Does it work in another Chrome profile?
Each Chrome profile is separate. Install Distractless in the profile where you want the pause. A profile where it is not installed is not paused.
Your list
Which sites can I add?
Any domain you add from the extension popup. The list is editable, and nothing on it is permanent. Setup steps are on the Chrome site blocker page. YouTube, Reddit, and social sites each have their own guide.
Price and access
How much does Distractless cost?
New installs include a 14-day free trial. After that, a one-time $9.99 USD lifetime unlock keeps pause and block features active on that Chrome install. There is no monthly subscription. You can also choose Browse freely for now, which turns pauses off and keeps your list and stats on this device.
What does paying ask for?
Paying for lifetime access asks for the Google account on that click. Checkout does not open if that window is closed. Email is not stored. A later install can restore that purchase with the same Google account. Declining Google keeps the purchase on that install.
Your data
Where does my browsing data stay?
Your blocked-site list, visit counts, and usage stats stay in Chrome extension storage on your device. They are not sent to our servers. See Privacy.
When does the weekly reflection open?
It opens on Sunday evening after you finish setup. It includes blocked sites where you had visits or time that week. The first reflection shows that week only.
